Wow. What I'm most curious about, is how did you create that border? It is so precise, and the colors blend so smoothly!

Well, first I drew the straight elements of the border with a rolling ruler (rolling ruler makes it easier to make lines parallel both to eachother and to the edges of the paper). The big circle I used a CDR and traced around the edge - and the inside circle I used the bottom of a big jar to trace around.. I have some circle templates, but they are all tiny circles so for the big ones I have to get creative. When I try to draw a circle freehand it always comes out all wonky.

To do the gradient - basically I just put down 2 colors on my palette - Pyrrole Orange and Cerulean Blue Chromium (and also white)... And I started with mostly the orange, and mixed more and more blue into it as I went down... in some parts I would paint the divide between 2 different colors and then use my fingertip to blot the color a bit and make the gradient more smooth... but when you look at it up close you can clearly see brushstrokes. I did the inside (darker) parts first, and then mirrored them in the outside part, except this time mixing in a ton of white.

Glad you like it ^.^!

Wow! THANK YOU for the detailed reply, you're so sweet!! And very talented of course, I hope you don't mind a little ego petting, hehe. ;)

I myself have not heard of a rolling ruler before, I think I'll look into it! It sounds very useful. I like how you got creative, finding different things to use to make the circle and all. ^^

It still looks SO smooth.. I can barely see the brushstrokes and the like, even though you pointed out that they are there. :3

Wow! You did an amazing job with her. Clouded Leopards are such beautiful cats, I have to wonder why there aren't more seen in the fandom.

Woah, your use of painted gradients is truly amazing. I love how the fuzzy tail curves very naturally. The shading is full of contrast and color as well.
